In order for Abound® to submit a Quarterly Tax Payment to the IRS for an individual, they must be enrolled with EFTPS. Enrollment with EFTPS needs to happen only once, is completely free, and enables the User to look up a payment on the EFTPS website.
Please contact Abound® support for authorization approval to enable your production environment.
Once enrolled, the User will receive a letter from EFTPS in the mail within 2 weeks. This letter will provide an Inquiry PIN that the taxpayer can use to create an account with and log into the EFTPS Website to view their payment history.
Receiving letters from the government can be intimidating. We encourage you to inform your users that an Inquiry PIN letter from the EFTPS will be mailed to their address so they understand its purpose and do not become unnecessarily concerned.
It is important to note that you must receive authorization for Abound® to enroll your users with EFTPS. This can be done by including the following text in your payment flow and requiring the user to acknowledge and agree to the terms through the use of a checkbox or similar UI. This notice needs to be shown only once, the first time your user submits a Quarterly Tax Payment.
